Movement/Motion Cues

The image implies motion with several movement cues. Depth perception plays a big role in indicating motion in this photograph as the horses closest to the viewer are the largest. The viewer understands the objects are moving because of their placement. The hair in the right horse's tail is blown back due to movement. Also, the horses and particles are displayed in the air so it can be assumed they are not stationary in that position, so they must be in motion.

The image is captured to give a special effect that the girl's hair is in an abnormal way but it also implies motion to the viewer. The movement is going from right to left as the girl whips her hair around. Moving objects are frozen in this image that the viewer can identify as in motion like her hair and the water. Water is usually still but in this image it is shooting upward with the movement of the girl's hair. Portion's of the girl's hair go directly up in the air which could only occur if she were in motion. Even though her face and body appear still, relative motion of her hair indicates that she is moving.
